The Nakea Management Team

Christopher D. K. Nakea
President, Nakea, LLC.

A technology veteran, successful entrepreneur and radio broadcast personality Chris started his career in the technology industry in the late 80’s as a computer consultant, focusing on removing points of failure, minimizing redundant tasks, and increasing efficiency through the introduction of technology solutions for both small and big businesses.

Over the years Chris has been the driving force behind a number of ground breaking and innovative technology companies, including Seattle based New Media Broadcasting (Article 1, Article 2), an early leader in interactive Web casting and his current company Nakea, LLC.

Established on the reputation of its founder in 2005, Nakea, LLC. quickly captured the Seattle market developing custom solutions for companies like Oh Boy! Oberto, Indian Gaming, award winning retailer Fireworks Gallery, as well as organizations like the Washington State Dental Hygienists Association and many others.  The reputation and reach of the company rapidly extended to a national and international market.

Nakea’s core product, the Nakea Site Manager™, is a powerful website management and communication tool that has become the foundation for many of the robust custom solutions developed by the company, as well as an appealing off-the-shelf product that quickly gives non-technical businesses a powerful edge over the Web.

Nakea on Radio

In 1993 the number one talk radio station in Seattle, Washington, convinced Chris to produce and host a show on cutting edge technology. The success of that show led to a statewide (WA) and ultimately a nationally syndicated radio talk show on technology issues with emphasis on the Internet.

Well known and respected in the tech industry and broadcasting, as well as an accomplished solutions architect and leader in streaming content  Chris has appeared on numerous television and radio shows, as well as in newspaper and magazine articles.

Through radio Chris was known and recognized as staunch and active opponent that effectively lobbied against the original Communications Decency Act of 1995 – a bill that in its original form would have had a profound impact on the Internet we know today.

Chris has also been a strong advocate for child safety over the internet. In 1998 Chris hosted the first ever seminar of its kind, focused on Internet privacy, children's safety, and future concerns of the Internet. Seminar participants included Senator Patty Murray, Congressman Rick White, Director of Customs Gene Weinshank, well known D.C. attorney Perry Aftab and Curtis Sliwa founder of the Guardian Angels (Also founded online division Cyber Angels) and others. The Seminar, sponsored by Microsoft and Net Nanny, was broadcast over the Internet and allowed listeners to participate through chats, message boards, and political action forums developed by Nakea.

In 2006 Nakea once again joined forces with some of the giants in radio (Clear Channel, Jones Radio and Media Syndication Services) to produce a national contest to find the next Progressive Talk Radio Star. Participants from around the country went head-to-head on radio and online while America tuned.

Throughout his time on radio, Chris continued to run his technology companies and over the years has architected software solutions for companies like Microsoft, Xerox, Time Warner, Harvard Business School Publishing’s Ideas@Work, Indian Gaming Magazine and many more.

As the founder and President of Nakea, LLC., his focus is once again on empowering small businesses through the promotional and interactive power of the Internet.
